Initial Situation
The mission of the office of the ICRC’s Central Tracing Agency Bureau (CTA Bureau) for the international armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine is to help clarify the fate of missing persons and thus alleviate the suffering of their families.
The CTA Bureau collects, centralizes and transmits information on servicemen and civilians who have fallen into the hands of the opposing camp or have died. In addition, in coordination with its extensive network of ICRC delegations and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the CTA Bureau office helps families dispersed by the conflict to re-establish contact with loved ones.
In order to be able to collect information on missing Russian and Ukrainian people and ensure that the data concerning them is processed, it was necessary to hire Ukrainian and/or Russian speakers. Guaranteeing the integrity and impartiality of these people was an essential objective.
Extended product portfolio
The Internet Profile product already included a check for inconsistencies with the CV and negative media presence, but this was limited to the social networks that are most popular in Europe.
Aequivalent adapted the product to include Russian-language social networks, in particular VK.
Process optimisation
To ensure fast and efficient delivery, Aequivalent has adapted their internal operating methods to optimise their processes. Strategic prioritisation of verifications, based on their relevance and urgency, has been introduced to provide a more targeted response to CTA Bureau’s specific needs.
By following this approach, Aequivalent demonstrates its flexibility and ability to anticipate and respond proactively to the specific demands of its customers.
Language barriers
In order to guarantee the processing of data relating to missing people, as well as their families, it was imperative for the CTA Bureau office to recruit individuals with a command of either Ukrainian or Russian, or even both languages.
The availability of Aequivalent’s platform in four languages and the linguistic diversity of Aequivalent’s colleagues enabled fluid communication with candidates.
