Presentation of the new 2021 integrity statistics

Like every year, Aequivalent, Switzerland’s leading digital platform for background checks, publishes its integrity statistics. Through its interface, Aequivalent verifies the information provided by the candidates during the recruitment process to allow employers to better know their future employees.

What are integrity statistics?

Aequivalent anonymizes and compiles several thousand verifications that make it possible to identify certain trends concerning the integrity of candidates and employees as well as the risk inherent in their hiring. In its press release (also available as a webinar), the company presents its analysis, 2021 trends as well as its observations.

Highlights

  • An increase in non-compliant dossiers in 2021 (7.5% versus 6.7%)
  • Undeclared lawsuits and ancillary activities remain, also in 2021, the most problematic elements
  • 50.0% of unreported lawsuits are recorded at the individuals’ former addresses (2022 survey).
  • Several dozen false declarations of diplomas in Switzerland in the last three years
  • False work certificates are still rare, but 73.0% of the experiences on the CV contain inaccuracies
  • Post-pandemic: the online reputation of candidates remains to be monitored
  • Only 29.0% of LinkedIn profiles (fully) match the resume (2022 survey)
  • In 2021, more non-compliance among men, young people, external consultants, Anglo-Saxons and Swiss-French
  • In-Employment Audits: A potential trend toward greater transparency with current employer
