This year, Aequivalent is celebrating a decade of expertise in professional background checks. On this occasion, we had the pleasure of speaking with our very first client, Piguet Galland & Cie, to reflect on this enriching collaboration that has lasted since the company’s beginnings in 2015.

We asked a few questions to Mrs Marina Bianchi-Galanti, Human Resources Director at Piguet Galland & Cie:

1. What were your main challenges when you chose Aequivalent as a partner 10 years ago?

At the start of our partnership with Aequivalent, we faced several challenges. It was crucial for us to rely on a recruitment process where potential risks at the hiring stage could be identified quickly. We had already collaborated with an investigation agency in this area in the past, but the process remained complex and administratively burdensome for the HR department.

Aequivalent offered us a digital solution that ensured transparency, respect for personal data and compliance with legal requirements while guaranteeing speed and relevance.

The background checks of our candidates and the regular review of our employees’ personal files have provided an additional layer of trust for our clients.

2. What aspects of our service convinced you to continue this long-term collaboration?

Flexibility and attentiveness to our needs. Over ten years, even as Aequivalent has grown, we have benefited from excellent collaboration, attentive to our feedback and suggestions, always proactive and available.

3. How has Aequivalent’s expertise in background screenings strengthened your recruitment and risk management processes?

Interaction with candidates regarding verifications has significantly improved thanks to the user-friendly and clear online platform. Moreover, the support provided by qualified staff reassures candidates and guides them effectively through the process.

Thanks to Aequivalent’s services, the risk of unsuitable hires has considerably decreased, as we are now better able to assess candidates’ experience and background.

Additionally, the generation of concise and comprehensive reports within reasonable timeframes guarantees a transparent and efficient recruitment process. These detailed reports provide us with a clear and accurate view of each candidate’s or employee’s career path, facilitating decision-making during periodic checks.

Finally, the standardisation of checks at recruitment and throughout an employee’s career ensures fair treatment for everyone, whether new candidates or existing staff. This strengthens trust in our recruitment system and promotes a corporate culture based on fairness and mutual respect.

4. Do you have an anecdote or memorable moment to share about our collaboration?

When we introduced our triennial file review process, the exchanges with Aequivalent were highly productive and constructive. This “collective intelligence” project was enriching, interesting, and effective for all involved.

5. How do you foresee the future challenges in background checks, and what role do you think Aequivalent could play in this evolution?

The evolving regulatory framework regarding data protection requires companies like Aequivalent to possess the necessary expertise in regulatory monitoring to comply with various requirements.

The technological challenge is also significant: electronic identity verification methods, biometric data, and artificial intelligence play a crucial role in this area.

Aequivalent has an important role to play, especially for companies of our size. Regulatory and technological developments must be approached with common sense and attentiveness. These simple yet essential elements ensure Aequivalent’s flexibility and adaptability in specific situations while guaranteeing comprehensive and reliable verifications.

Thank you for your trust!

These experiences reflect the essence of our collaboration: a relationship built on trust, a shared vision, and a common ambition for transparency. A heartfelt thank you to Piguet Galland & Cie and Marina Bianchi-Galanti for these 10 successful years.
